I can only imagine it's 'cause you're saving as a jpg?

You can either raise the settings of the jpg so the compression isn't so bad, or just save your images as pngs from now on. For high quality I tend to stick to png, for smaller filesize and less quality I go for jpg.

Either way, always good to keep the psd file. If you still have the psd file for this, give saving it as png a shot.
