Part of the Blood Bowl team I am throwing together. Pretty much think football except played by orcs, elves, halflings, and undead players and far more brutal (killing the opponent is perfectly viable.)
My team is a Necromantic Team with a theme of 'steampunk' and 'wolves' and is made almost entirely of parts that I already had in my bits/unpainted minis box. Necromantic is kinda like a mish-mash of horror creatures from zombies, to werewolves, to frankenstein monsters.
While the zombies are the meatshields, but the specialists are really what makes the team work. Working as a wall to stop the more powerful offense, taking out the opponent's star player, or even running or throwing the ball to score a goal, this all falls to the specialists. Would you really trust a mindless zombie with any of that?
On top wearing #1 & #2 are my flesh golems, think Frankenstiens Monsters. Slow and strong, they make for a good defensive line. One of them is a Reaper 'Scurvy Dog' zombie werewolf & the other is a clusterfuck of parts. Head, shoulders, and lower legs from an old GW metal ushabti, the torso & arms (I just liked the steam pincher and large claws) are from a Maulifax Executioner, and on its back is a steam backpack from Privateer Press. Found the bits as leftovers in the semi-local hobby shop bits bin.
#3 & #4 are going to be my wights and are still under construction. Trying to decide between stripping and repainting a pair of Assault Fiends from the old Legions of Steel tabletop game or something else.
#5 & #7 are my werewolves. Speedy, agile, and able to rip the guts out of just about anything. They can handle beating the shit out of the opposition and still deal with the ball. Im using an older Games Workshop Wilhelm Chaney mini, and I just got in one of the Limited Edition Dingo miniatures.
Yes, the dingo is holding a baby (in this case, painting it up as a zombie baby.) When I saw it, I HAD to get it.
#6 is my ghoul. Its supposed to be light & fast, more for dealing with the ball and less for beating things. Frankly, its supposed to be a degenerate cannibalistic creature, but I thought that a ghost would be more appropriate. Using a Reaper 'Hound of Judgement.
