So it's some fantasy setting. There's a lot of magic involved. Some of the typical Tolkien-esque fantasy tropes may be in play and some may be subverted or I'll try to put my own spin on them.
The very basic premise is that Edgar and Alister are out of WIZARDING SCHOOL (will think of a better name for it) and are live-in apprentices to Raleigh, a more experienced wizard.
I had the idea of different races dressing up reminiscent of different historical periods. Dog-people dress in American Wild West/1800's.
Alister's special school of wizarding is Evoker- which means he SHOOTS LIGHTNING, FIRE AND OTHER COOL SHIT LIKE THAT.
I will make proper character reference sheets for my own personal benefit later, but as of right now this is just planning. Feedback on design would be appreciated.
Will be scrapped later.
On a completely unrelated note- VENETIAN SNARES! WHY YOU SO ADDICTING?!

AH I hope the setting works out for you this time! I know you've had a lot of trouble deciding on the right setting for these guys. . .But I know that, for Flawless, I went from fantasy to a weird mix of real-life and fantasy to dystopian sci-fi, oh god. AH the wonderful, uncertain world of development~
But I like the new clothing designs, I think they work well! Though it's weird not seeing Alister and Edgar in mostly black and white, respectively, ha ha~

Yeah, I know part of it is due to my short attention span, but also I just haven't found anything so far that feels right... so hopefully this works.

Yeah... I think I just went with the brownish earthen tones because they just visually coincide better with their orange/red fur. I still want to keep the light/dark theme though.
