Olympus E500 hmm?... what do you find the focusing to be like with that one? I've got an E420 and the focusing ability on that is failing me terribly! Slow and often it just won't focus at all. Do you ever get that trouble with yours? Going by your gallery it can throw out some pretty fantastic looking pictures! Keep it up :)

The E500 is not too bad with the auto focus. It has several auto focus options which im sure are on the 420 (ie C-af and S-af) It has 3 focus areas and in good light with my 45mm lense on it focuses quickly. When its really really dark it will fire the flash a few times which helps it focus quickly. If it still cant focus then it lets you know that it cant. hehe but if you have an external flash, like mine, it has a huge sensor around 5 times more powerful than the built in one which helps ALOT!

You also have to remember all cameras (depending on the lens) have a minimum focal length

Yah, mines got the three same options for the autofocus. But none of them seem to make any difference from each other. Prehaps it's cause I try to use mine for darker photos a lot or something. Even with the flash firing (which mine also does) :/ It just seems that a lot of the time, wether the subject be near or far that the camera spends ages trying to focus... and then fails at it anyway! xD I haven't got an external flash though as I rarely use it anyway :P Tripod and longer exposure is my preference :P

hmmm it could be the processor in it then. hehe yea i prefer the tripod and longer exposure aswell when conditions are perfect ie, the subjet is still ;)

Prehaps... either way I'm not planning on keeping it al that much longer :P Looking more into Canons range and in the area of the 500D Haven't got a ton of money to spend out when all I really need is something that will do the job :P

I think you got a knock off version of the camera, the brand name is on the wrong way around. :P :P
