Here I lie,
Far from home,
Bruised and battered
by sorrow.
In these lands,
Cold as stone,
I am held by
Dragon's hand.
With every glance,
He parts my way,
Eyes of Ice hold me
Captive.
Darkest thoughts,
Creep into mind,
And I can feel
my will melt away.

Sooooo not many people know I used to actualy sing. Like... singsing.
My mother was classically trained and she in turn taught me since I was about.. oh... three. I used to sing in the California Regional Choir and had a full scholarship to the University of Stanislaus (thats spelled wrong Im sure) for choir. I was stupid and turned it down to run off and be with my ex-husband (biggest mistake of my life) but there ya go.
Ive never really written a song before. I am no musician really, and my poetry tends to be average at best in my own opinion. But I have this little... quirk. When I am alone, by myself I often sing my 'soul song' as I have called it since I was a very small child. This song is nothing more then me just singing notes at random that feel 'right'.
So yesterday I was doing this while I did laundry, just singing to myself when this melody kept reoccurring over and over again while I sang. I felt it out a bit and decided I really liked it. Then I decided to put words to it. It was originally going to be a song for Hikari but I didnt find any words I liked that fit her. And then I started for Kainda and it fell into place.
I apologize for my voice being so very out of practice and kind of breathy. I haven't sung like this in many, many years.
Maybe one day when I have lots of money, I can get that famous foxamoore guy to make this into something amazing. XD
NOTE: Youll have to turn your volume up, its very quiet. Stupid default Voice Recorder.

http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4253633/ he did this for no better reason than they are friends.... not to make you ask but to get you look at his work.
You should sing more, you're certainly good at it! Would love to see you post more!
The free version of Wavepad by PMAsoft can be used to record as well as it has a "normalize" option that can boost the volume of low volume recordings.
I sing too *tailwags*

You have a very pretty voice, Hikari. I agree that
foxamoore would be a good choice, (if you could afford him), your tune feels much like his other work... except that he usually works in major keys, not always though. (He's a nice guy, BTW.) But you really ought to sing more often!
