Yep, that's about as much as I know, mostly just grinding my rolls so I really get the fingering (hurr) down. Also if that's all you ever learn on the banjo it's already worth it.

Do you think that "muzzle" or "snout" is a more phonetically pleasant word?

I'd say snout, though a lot of people would disagree probably. Snout just conjures up a better image than muzzle and I like the one syllable thing it has going on.

Well I'm not sure what to do with a serious answer to that question. Snout just makes me think of the thing on the front end of a pig and that's not an aesthetically pleasing thing. Plus muzzle has the "z" sound it's very soothing.

I've had a few people tell me that, But i think I've associated "snout" as specifically dog snouts from a very young age (I think i remember sculpting a dog and my art teacher in high school calling it a snout). Muzzle brings up the image of the leather muzzle they put over dog's mouths to make them useless, which is also a good image in some situations but just not what I'm conveying here.

That's a fair point and I'd have to concede that "muzzle" feels a little less correct to me on account of the thing that goes over the thing we are talking about. "Snout" though is so abrupt and severe, just saying it makes the sayer sound a little bit angry about something.

But like I think we've all grown here a little bit as people, and I'm just gonna chalk this one up to the richness and versatility of the English language and instead of getting upset that people are making different choices than I would, I will celebrate that those choices are there to be made.
