Yup yet another odd human derived species. This time one which was inspired by a lil dream I had where the Zentradi from Robotech were attacking a city of these guys. Yeah I have odd dreams. ^^ Anyway as well all new species this one gets a Codex entry and specifics on the individual shown.

The Derska are a human derived species native to Deraska. Derska differ from base line humans in a number of ways. Their skin comes in a number of shades of blue while hair color typically has the normal range though some bear hair that is a differing shade of blue. They are highly resistant to radiation. They also process greater lung capacity than humans thusly can continue to operate normally in a lower oxygen environment. They also do not exhibit any detrimental effects from long term exposure to micro gravity. Lastly and perhaps most notably the Derska are a single gender species appearing for all intensive purposes male. Their reproductive cells are neutral meaning they can combine with not only their own kind but reproductive cells of baseline humans. However they are not body breeders and require the use of an artificial womb for their offspring. This however has proven to be an advantage to them as it allows for better monitoring of the developing embryo and easy intervention to correct any issues that may arise. As a result their rates of infant mortality below 1%.

Socially the Derska are an open accepting species with a knack for space exploration. They are one of the centers for the advancement of the sciences and have contributed much to the galactic community as a whole. This said they do not always have the best of relations with genetic Baseline humans who often consider them an abnormal due to their reproductive methodology.

Rasin is a relatively young Derska studying cybernetics. He hopes to one day design robots of various sorts and would even like to dabble in prosthetic limbs as well. He's on his school's cybernetics team and their hoping to build a bot that'll beat the course record. Asdide from that Rasin also loves to swim. Something he gets to do a lot of given Deraska's climate is mostly tropical and temperate with only a few desert regions. Here we see him at the pool wearing some light shoes and something which isn't quite a speedo. Thankfully for Rasin most don't notice it actually has some padding to it and has a water tight interior.
