Names in the primitive shared language of animals tend to be much more descriptive than names in an animal's own language. The tiger's name, portrayed in symbol, would be something like "One who guards (or treasures) his secrets." The rat's name would be "One who moves without fear in the depths," and is symbolized by the two golden fish, one of the Auspicious symbols in Buddhism.
Although, in their own languages, the tiger is simply named "Linan" and the rat is "Jeckle."
