tattoo i got in October '11. taken a little while after so it's weeping a bit.
It's the eye of horus (though i see mine as the eye of anubis =p) the left eye which in egyptian myth represents the moon (his right eye being the sun). And the reason the moon is duller than the sun is because his left eye was wounded in a battle with Set. I love the night and am a nightowl so i thought it was appropriate. Also i think the story behind it is awesome and interesting. The eye, or wedjat, also represents mainly protection (and it is on my back underneath my neck so it's even more so protecting me) and secondary meanings are health and power.

Underneath in latin is written "Fiat justitia ruat coelum" which is like a personal motto of mine meaning "let justice be done, even if the heavens fall". Not anything religious related, just a saying and showing the severity of the devotion. Let justice be done no matter what the consequences. That coincides with the eye that is always watching.
