Woods has had fascination with weaponry since his Uncle was a Weapon-smith, even more than his interest in the Rank-Shifter's abilities.
He surprised several people when he started Smithing as well, but as time passed, he proved to be very good at what he did, and how he did it--he'd stay in his cabin for days, sometimes even weeks before showing what he had made.
The quality of his weaponry was stunning for his age, and he quickly made a name for himself as a Master Smith--but he disagreed with how many felt.
There was still so much for him to learn...how could people think of him as a Master already?
After taking Melanie as his betrothed, he continued to work on his weaponry, learning as much as he could along the way.
