Excerpt from the story draft:

...Although she lost her jaw in the shooting Squelch escaped the fighting and fled to the furthest desolate radio outpost she could remember. There she fashioned a radio transmitter into a new voice box that she wore on her belt. Through the modified radio transmitter she could speak and even broadcast wireless messages throughout the land and into space.

With her clever radio skills Squelch was able to communicate with Rebel forces on the front lines. She intercepted Earth based communications from her distant radio outpost and radioed the enemy's decoded messages to the front lines.

Despite her efforts and the efforts of the Rebels, the Callisto rebels were defeated by the Earth forces. Squelch, never accepting defeat made one last broadcast, this time to the neighboring moon of Europa another colonized mining world....
