Gotta love the silly couple. (artist and her mate)
Okay, I love this one. I really do. Anyway, the explanation behind this....since I noticed the comments for this in her gallery where....well, okay, one person in particular...well....description time...I guess.
The idea behind this one is, we all dream. And we all have an aspect in our life that would like to be and can't. And the things that we like to be and have. I don't know about everyone else, but I dreamed to be allot of things. Jump jet fighter, firefighter, pro-wrestler, even singer. Well, I never became allot of those things for allot of different reasons. Does it make me a bad person? You be the judge.
BUT, back to this though. I'll start with a simple explanation when it comes to the fake limb. She lost it at around 11 years old....her excuse was playing on some train tracks. But really was depressed...nuff said. But she grew up not letting it be used as an excuse to be lazy and/or hamper her from doing things. So much so that she's been known in Jr.High and High school to get into allot of fights...and winning. So encase anyone thinks she's not a singer cause she feels she can not be one due to her handicap, just don't go to that conclusion.
She's just like anyone else who grew up with all four (five) limbs, and wishing they still had them when an unfortunate accident happens when they lose one or two.... She still suffers having a phantom limb. Meaning she sometimes would "think" she can feel something on a limb that is not there.....and actually would try to move it....and if there's nothing to snap her back into reality, she'll think she moved it. THOUGH, it don't happen to her as much as it used to. Just rarely as she got older, like waking up from a nightmare and being frantic.
Now for the hard one, about her dreaming of singing...
The story I have for her, and I am still dabbling in my mind of IF she'll decide to seek it or not....which I doubt. Is in the world around her, "morphs" have only been around for more than a century. Only 5 decades ago, some where speaking more in a human tongue to a language in their area than the typical language (if you want to call it that) of the species they seem to partially take after. Around that time, only a small number of them where well educated and "free". If there truly is a true "freedom" with a ruling government (pick, pick). Now, even though they have progressed into society when it comes being treated equal (as far as they can get with glass ceilings....like any place with racial problems....or in this case, species). Their way of talking is still erratic and un-natural sounding. To the point that you wish you could shut them up like a tv. Most....though it is dying, can still communicate with their lesser forms. BUT, just like them trying to speak English (or what ever language is around them) its un-natural. And most of their lower form cousins would probably not welcome them as much as the human populace. So of course, no one is going to want to hear a morph sing. Plus a morph may sing 10 times as worst as...lets say....Macy Gray or Billy Corgan. (sorry those two are....guh.....which is sad, cause I do sorta like the Smashing Pumpkins).
So that's where I think of the idea where she'll dream it. But of course never be it cause of how her genetic make up is made.....so it seems. NOW, she is one of the very few to "evolved" and actually does have a very stable, nice voice....could say its natural. But she does have to focus allot to keep her speech clear, something she worked on while growing up. If she gets angry or excited, her voice goes back to a chaotic sounding mess. Something like a bunch of Chinese who learned English later in life and actually sound pretty good, but if excited or angry, the heavy accents, maybe even a word or two from their native tongue, will escape from their lips.
About all I can think of to explain all this.....and its way more than I ever mentioned to the artist. Actually, I mentioned very little and she did such a wonderful job putting this up. :-D
Shandra's so cuddly looking, even I want to pounce her for a cuddle.
