I think you've had way too much fun with the pitch control on that tape recorder.

*dies from laughter* OMG, that was AMAZING!!! And I'm so proud of you for carrying it to its audible conclusion! Asymptote achieved!

Here's how I did it:

Took a cut of the first chorus, and actually changed the pitch, so it was the same pitch as the beginning of the song. I then copied and pasted, and changed the speed so it went up a half step.

Copy/Paste, full step.

Copy/Paste, two full steps.

Copy/Paste four full steps.

Copy/Page eight full steps.

Copy/Page sixteen full steps.

Copy/Page 32 full steps.

Copy/Paste 64 full steps.

Once I did that, trying to do 128 resulted in a file too short and too soft to worry about.

So, there is actually only 128 iterations, but it's enough to give you the impression.

Also, 12 interations raises it an octave, and takes up half the file. The next octave takes up half that, or a quarter, the next takes an eighth, etc. Convergent series.

Wow, that... wow. After a certain point it sounded to me kind of like rewinding (or fast-forwarding) a videotape. ^^;
