I wrote this on a whim as a response to this picture by the extremely talented 'Crappy Unicorn.'

Just a deep look into Celestia's heart and how she has always been the shoulders on which Equestria rests.
I've never found Trollestia jokes funny, nor do I care for Molestia, Tyrantestia and so on.
She's a strategist and while perhaps not a goddess, is still beyond aging and holds Equestria in her hooves.
And for those inevitable 'But you made the 'Like a Queen' thingy which makes fun of her!' comments, know that while she's my favorite pony, like any good-natured comedian, I'm not above poking fun at things I like or even love.
Anyway, just thought I'd share! Enjoy!

Why is it that the pony tales involvin letters are always the most poignant an sad?
Ol'Squeaks actually tried on his other account to write a tale from the perspective of Luna and Celestia concernin Discord but he got reamed by fans complainin about continuity and fannon ^^;
Heck, he might repost it here though and see how it does XD
Ye wrote a very interesting yarn ere, fittin fer the confessions of a controversial monarch, and really opened up new possibilities in this surprisingly rich franchise methinks :)

Heh, I have a friend who insists that Ditzy Doo, the gray-eyed pegasus is ONLY named Derpy Hooves, so don't worry.

As you can tell, I don't think of Celestia as a tyrant or cruel by any stretch. Just a leader who is burdened by the omni-present worry that everything she and her sister made, everything they worked hard to achieve could be extinguished overnight. Less of a tyrant and more of a force of conservation.
If you'll notice, she steers her subjects towards solving their own problems so that they can grow and learn from them.
Methinks she's grooming the world at large to one day be able to work on its own without her and her sister, but that she has no idea when that will be or worse, if she'll even recognize that moment when it arrives.
But yeah, Celestia will always be my best pony ^_^
special place in my heart for the old girl.
With AJ coming in second and the Mane Six coming in a close third.
I say post it! I for one would love to read it ^_^

Its a very interesting take on Celestia, as burdened royal. The Capn' dabbles in Trollestia but only as a silly hobby. He does feel Lauren Faust intended Celestia to be a true wisdom figure, almost like Gandalf or Dumbledore.
Although like both of them she is capable of mistakes and harbors deep regrets fer her actions. Its a welcome addition to entertainment though. Besides maybe Gibbs from NCIS, name another wisdom figure on TV.
Most are about unguided youngsters and addled adults. MLP actually has fairly responsible youngsters and a guiding, wise adult figure! Another reason this sea dog digs the show beyond its genuinely funny (and touching) writing and great animation.
The Capn' gravitates towards Twi, but the two always seem tied up: Twi and Celestia. Ifn Celestia is grooming anyone fer her 'voice' in the commonplace its Sparkle, and maybe (at least this was the theory Squeaks followed fer his prequel fic) Twilight is a lot like how Celestia herself was once upon a time.

This is a very well written piece. It gives Princess Celestia the appearance of what I always seen her, immortal but still not perfect, flawed by years of conflict.
And I agree that I don't picture her as a tyrrant or troll or whatever.
