Yeah, I'm pretty wierd about my avian characters that way. I don't give them wings because I don't think flight is very feasible for the anthro bird. Flapping requires a motion that is ever so slightly circular, which is harder when there's a pair of arms in the way, and the comparably long, thick legs on the anthro would result in clumsy flight. I'm such a geek. :B

Nothing wrong with being meticulous about your 'sona.
Yeah, anthro flight is kind of sketchy in terms of possibility. The body shape would have to be a little more avian than human, and then the wings would take the place of the arms, but to take the weight off the ground, they'd have to be pretty big. So at that point, their use as appendages are hindered. Unless the main feathers are more like fingers, but even still, they'd have to get used to the sheer length of the "arms" and "fingers", as compared to a lot of the small, precision-based things we use today.
And getting clothing that would work for an avian form would be another task altogether.
