The Wasteland Part 18
Dashed staggered up to the tree and slumped to the ground; his arm bled profusely from his jump from the window, he looked at his arm for the tenth time and he still couldn’t believe what he saw. The shard of glass was caught in his arm making it bleed more then Dashed would’ve liked, and it hurt, a lot. The rain poured down on him, soaking him to the skin and sent his mind on overload, the darkness of night also prevented him from focusing on anything visual to take his mind off the pain either. He couldn’t take both the pain and the constant rain at the same time. Unable to take it anymore he grabbed the glass and howled as he felt his flesh being torn by the shard. His vision got dark around the edges as he tried to not pass out, his arm felt like it was on fire and the mind numbing cold of the rain was starting to go away and was being replaced by a warmth spreading down his arm. With his good hand he looked at the glass shard, there were bits of his flesh stuck to the ridges and most of it was a deep shade of red. He threw the shard at the tree in front of him but only managed to throw it a mere five feet away. He stared at the glass for the longest time not trying to think about his arm. Mustering up all the courage he could he looked to his left to see what damage had been done, he instantly wished he hadn’t.
“Don’t panic, just like the book said, don’t panic that will make your heart rate increase and force all the blood out,” he said no longer being able to control his thoughts and words at the same time.
His arm had a huge gaping hole in the middle of his arm, blood was pouring out of the wound at an alarming rate. He quickly tore off his sleeve and attempted to make a bandage. Trying to put pressure on the wound he eventually managed to force his bandage on him. He sat back, rain pounding on his chest, and breathed out as if he inhaled a cigarette. He laid there for only a minute in the dark and rain before saying to himself, “Come on, you’re never going to find Olivia lying around here.”
He slowly got up and used the tree for support to get to his feet. When he reached them he teetered a bit before breaking into an all out sprint towards the middle of the forest.
“I must find her,” he thought, “I must find her before it’s too late.”
The sky provided the rain that soaked his fur and made it even harder to run, the forest provided branch after branch to smack him in the face with, and the ground provided countless tiny pits and mud holes for him to get stuck in, despite all of this Dashed pushed on trying desperately trying to reach the clearing. Then out of nowhere a branch struck him in his wound, he fell to the mud, screaming in pain. He shut his eyes and grasped his arm trying desperately not to pass out. He couldn’t take it anymore, he had to find Olivia once and for all. He opened his eyes and looked up and standing over him was Olivia, the very first one, oh how beautiful she looked with her blue eyes, her grey fur, and her wolf eyes behind her glassed. She was wearing that beautiful skirt he loved with the blue stripes and that shirt with the picture the picture he made her. She laid a hand on his arm and the pain went away, slowly at first but it soon became a numb almost painless piece of flesh, almost like a bruise. As he stared into her lovely eyes he felt the world change, he wasn’t in the rain anymore he was inside a house listening to her parents screaming at her that she was going to hell for her cross-species relationship. He looked to his right and saw Olivia yelling right back and even though no sound came out he felt that same feeling that he felt years ago, one of deep love and caring only how that Olivia had the most beautiful eyes in the world. Everyone made fun of her for being an anime obsessed, but it was one of the things Dashed loved most about her. He felt his head spinning and the walls dissolved leaving only white, and that quickly turned to black, he felt a rush of cold wet air and opened his eyes and found himself soaked to the bone, but when he looked up he only saw the second Olivia’s whiskered face. She said something but he couldn’t tell what it was, he pushed up from the ground and got back on his feet. He noticed that it wasn’t raining anymore, and it seemed the moon was farther up then it was a few seconds ago. When he got up he found Olivia standing not 15ft away, her luxurious otter fur seemed to shine in the moonlight it was truly beauty in its purest form. She gestured him to come to her, he slowly staggered towards her, one hand reaching out and one hand one his beating heart. She reached out and their hands met, gliding towards each other their hands soothed up each other’s arms until they both reached their heads. They pressed heads together and Dashed became rejuvenated not feeling the slighted bit tired. Dashed closed his eyes, taking in the full joy of having this energy. He opened his eyes and found himself in the warm humid air of an Illinois summer, wearing only a swimsuit, standing on a pier that was over one of the beautiful Twin Lakes. He looked to his left and saw Olivia standing there, wearing a blue bikini, and before Dashed could react his girlfriend jumped into the lake. Without hesitation he jumped in after her into the cool Illinois water. After reaching the top of the water he heard a noise behind him and saw Olivia splashing and smiling. He swam out to her and grabbed her, and put her lips to his, as his hands wrapped around her back. At that moment he felt like he was flying again. He opened his arms and lifted up his chest and he felt like he was lifted even higher and then suddenly he felt the cold and black again. He landed on his knees, looked up, and saw the third Olivia her tiger stripes always did have a way of arousing him. The night was at its final hours of darkness by now, but Dashed didn’t care his eyes were fixed on Olivia. She turned and walked away twitching her tail as a signal to follow. As he ran towards her she sped up, as he burst into an all out sprint she went on all fours and ran faster than anything he had ever seen before, he leapt into the bushes; he followed and without a doubt jumped right in. He landed right on her, they rolled down a hill that he didn’t see and when he reached the bottom, it felt warm, he got up and looked around. He saw that he was back at his old high school just as he remembered it, the front half being surrounded by cornfield and the back half by soybeans. He heard a Coach’s order to get his ass in gear. He reached the track where the 200 meter sprint would commence and his eyes gazed upon all the athletes, all of them looked the same, dumb and strong, except for one. There was a beautiful tigress warming up and taking position. When the gun fired off all five of them sprinted towards the finish line and even though she was a girl the tigress came in first. While all the other runners collapsed she kept on running, turning towards him. She leapt onto him and said something he couldn’t hear and kissed him, as she kissed him he wrapped his arm around her back and held her. As Dashed back he could hear a coach getting really pissed, Dashed heard the coach coming near he held onto her even tighter, the coach grabbed Olivia by the shoulders and pulled her off of him and all at once the coldness came back. Dashed found himself grabbing thin air lying on his back in the early morning light. He shielded his eyes and struggled to get back on his feet. He still didn’t feel tired at all but when he looked to his arm it, somehow, was already almost healed. He got to his feet and turned around and saw the fourth Olivia, her vulpine features was showed off in the early light; she wore a white dress that showed off her breast, she had a daisy in her hair, and her head fur was longer and more flowing then he had ever seen, she swished her tail and walked towards him. He reached out to her and was about to touch her when he heard, “Dashed god dammit! Get back here I’m sick of this shit!”
He turned around and saw Carla running with a rifle towards him, he turned around and saw Olivia shake her head pull away from him and faded into the forest with her feet inches off the ground. He looked back and saw a hateful and angry beast with a gun running towards him, without a second’s hesitation he ran after Olivia once more.
I never thought I would get done this fast, the journal that I posted was supposed to be uploaded during the morning but my wifi was down so i had to save it until tonight. Anyways, how did you like it? Do you think Dashed is completely insane yet? What did you think of it? What do you think will happen next?
