Given recent events I felt a follow up to my recent political comic about SOPA and PIPA was in order.
After all the events of the past week the situation in DC has changed considerably.
- SOPA is shelved until consensus is reached: http://thehill.com/blogs/hillicon-v.....ensus-is-found
- Six of the co-sponsors of PIPA are asking to hold off on the vote: http://www.opencongress.org/article.....to-Cancel-Vote
- and biggest of all, Obama now opposes both bills: http://www.thestatecolumn.com/artic.....of-expression/
For a while now I've thought of the internet akin to a beehive. Thousands, millions of bees working away happy as can be... but when threatened the entire swarm will fight back without mercy.
Well, they just had to fuck with the /b/hive. :P

Well, it seemed appropriate. SOPA is shelved (effectively dead), PIPA is falling apart as we speak, and the White House's opinion is as the creator of the fecal-matter powered helicopter said "This shit will not fly!". Much of whats happened can be directly attributed to grassroots movements like the boycotting of GoDaddy, demandprogress.org, Reddit encouraging other websites to black out in protest, and so on.
Like a swarm of angry bees we will defend our hive.
