I am a brony. After getting hooked on MLP:FiM early last year, I helped develop parts of the wiki, tried to write a fanfic (rejected by Equestria Daily due to a central OP). I had ideas for pony images, and finally decided to start a sketchbook.

Now this is a mini-sketchbook, which means I started with a "make your own book" that I got from a local teacher supply store. It's got maybe a dozen sheets inside and a cover that can be drawn on. The covers are part of the fun.

The book started circulating at Detroit FanFare, first held in September, 2011. There were several artists I like to choose from for the cover, but I went to Art Baltazar, creator of DC's "Tiny Titans" and "Super-Pets" because the others had already done covers for me. (Maybe next time I start a mini I'll ask Katie Cook or Sue Van Camp.)

Art is a real professional, and as he was doing only quick crayon pieces at the con he wanted to make sure I would be happy with the resulting cover. "Love Pony" is his sample, which I got along with the cover. (You'll see the cover in a week or two.)
