No Imperial Guard force is complete without some heavy metal to back up humble troopers. So here is the ride of choice for my Kasrkin squads, the Imperial Valkyries gunship and transport.

I absolutely adore this model. It looks like a cross between a WWII bomber and a modern helicopter gunship. The paint scheme is admittedly quite simple, but I've always found that a few simple colors, put on cleanly and smoothly with some simple details painted on can really make it look great. Especially on a well-sculpted model.

The color scheme was inspired by WWII schemes, as I couldn't help but make the connection. The top of the model is in a simple olive drab to blend in with forests below it while the bottom of the aircraft is painted a bluish white to make it hard to tell from the sky. Add on some old 'Invasion Stripes' to the tail, and it looks like it's ready to storm Normandy as well as fly into battle against Orks.
