Alright, here is the run down.
I have a surplus solid stock for my UZI and for a few reasons (one being I am getting a much nicer non-surplus one, the second being they are cheap and plentiful as hell) I want to re-finish it.
While thinking about this, I got the idea of possibly adding some additional personal touches to it. Then I got the idea of adding a logo of some sort to the large flat area at the back, and well my mind kinda went from there.
Basically this left me with a few ideas and I wanted to see what people thought.
Here are some critical items:
1. I will most likely be burning the design into the stock. However, if engraving with a rotary tool will yield better results, I will consider that.
2. The largest workable area for a square design is about 3" tall by 2.5" wide. Going forward along the side will give a long rectangle about 4" long and 1.5" tall.
3. The stock pictured is representative.
4. The stock will be stripped prior to any burning or engraving. As such I will be able to choose any finish I want. I have no clue what looks good with burned or engraved wood, but keep in mind the firearm is a flat black.
5. I have no clue what kind of wood this is. I am working on finding that out.
This is what a stripped stock looks like.
This is a stock with minimal finishing

Well at $13 a piece I can always make more than one. :P
The top right is the first Idea I had myself.
Also, in line to your journal that is currently up, that is what happened to the picture of the UZI in question I posted. It got me a bit irritated because it seems to be so selectively enforced. :/
