Chinese New Year Auction: CLOSED!
And we're closed! Thank you all so much for the massive amount of interest. <3 *in awe, and so, So, SO grateful* !!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
:D Finally got my rear in gear and sketched up the auction idea. Seven slots, total.. which means for a normal seven character image like this (fully colored/shaded, possible background), you might pay $90+... good deal? Maybe? ^.^;
Now with added info! :D
"The Dragon Dance is an important part of the Chinese New Year celebration. It is believed that the dragon represents prowess, nobility and fortune; drives out evil and brings good luck. The origin of the Dragon Dance dates back to ancient China." - PBA.org
"The patterns of the dragon dance are choreographed according to the skills and experiences acquired by the performers. Some of the patterns of the dragon dance are "Cloud Cave", "Whirlpool", T'ai chi pattern, "threading the money", "looking for pearl", and "dragon encircling the pillar". The movement "dragon chasing the pearl" (the pattern I chose for this illustration) shows that the dragon is continually in the pursuit of wisdom." - Wikipedia
More info (and some videos) on the Dragon Dance performed during the Chinese New Year parade can be found here: http://www.china-family-adventure.c.....gon-dance.html
Cool stuff, huh? :D
Rules
- You can bid on one of several, but if you end up being the winning bidder on every slot you bid on, you'll hafta pay for them. ^.^;; (Unless you contact the second-highest bidder and arrange something with them, and then you both contact me about it.)
- Bids will start at $10, with increments of at least $1 please. <3
- Characters can be any gender. I sketched them in as androgynous (for the most part), but I can totally work feminine/masculine body shapes in there as required. *salute*
- Please bid in the comments section, as a reply to the last highest bid for each spot. (So they know they've been outbid. ^.^;;;)
- Not really a rule, but I wanted to stick in here somewhere that this will end up being fully colored/shaded, and clean. Please keep both of these things in mind while bidding. <3 (Also, if the bids go up enough, I'll totally try to do some kind of background. Not sure what yet, but... yeah. :3 *may also allow the highest bidder in the auction to add another char into the background, depending on final amount* :3)
I think that's it... may add more if I find I missed something major tomorrow. ^.^;
It was $12 in my paypal.. That's the whole reason I tried to get a spot. Heck, I probably have more, but auction was closed while I was working my 10 hour shift at work... I was really excited I was actually gonna get to put a character in a group compilation. Usually artists I watchs' group spots go for $100 per spot.
