This was more of an experiment to see how much of the picture I could do in vector. It does not animate, however it is extremely detailed -- check out the inline MiniDisc remote ;)
Oh, and the answer is "pretty much all of it".
pencil, paper, photoshop to touch up pencil sketches, and FreeHand MX was used.

OK, I'm going to go out on a limb and say this giagantic vector is complete. This damn thing took entirely too long to complete.

And to think that you did it all using vector tools, that's another bonus for you. It's totally insane what you've been able to put in there. I mean I've used Illustrator (which from what I hear is similar to FreeHand), and Illustrator makes me want to toss my laptop out the window every time I use it.
Illustrator makes me want to throw a rock at my computer -- this is nothing new. FreeHand's drawing tools are much more natural to me -- probably because I've been using it for so long and as you can see -- comfortable enough to produce that image.
Once composition, cleanup and everything was done -- the "labor" part of drawing that entire image with the pen tool was ~11 hours.
