This is my half of a trade with my friend from South Korea (he/she doesn't have an FA page, unfortunately). Probably one of the best pictures I've done to date, and also one of the first times I've ever done digital coloring on an inked traditional piece. This took me a good five or six hours to do the coloring for with Paint.NET, and another thirty minutes or so for the actual drawing (I can upload the drawing from my sketchbook later if anybody wants that, but it's fucking creepy looking because it's lacking a pupil).
The proportions of the face are a bit off, but it's at least comparable with my other higher-quality pictures. The weird space-age Serenity-looking characters above Teres (the character's name) are Korean for, surprisingly, Teres. Paint.NET doesn't have any Korean font plugins that I know of and I don't have a multi-language keyboard and I don't even know Korean, so I had to paint it in with my mouse.
Oh yeah. 100% of the digital work was done with a mouse.
Uh...yeah. Not much else to say about it. Teres was a really rad character to work on and I'm glad to hav had the opportunity to do something cool for a friend for once, and I would love to do this again some time. It also means a lot to me from a personal point of view because it clearly shows just how far I've come since I started on this website, both in terms of artistic skill and general level of understanding what the hell I'm talking about.
Please please PLEASE comment if you favorite it, or even if you just happen to like or dislike it for whatever reason.
Shirt says "AXIS", by the way. That doesn't mean anything in particular, I just figured it'd look cool. I was given total freedom when it came to clothing choice.

Thanks! This pic and the next one (Jaycemonde) have entirely convinced nee to take up coloring and multimedia projects as the best way to bring out my style. I think that, for the first time in mt life, I'm looking forward to working with art non-stop in this fashion. Had some doubts about it before.
My trick for coloring with a mouse is using a really huge brush to fill in really big areas, using a slightly smaller brush to do the lined areas (then carefully cleaning the outside up with an eraser), and then zooming in art almost ridiculous levels and using tiny tiny brush strokes with a tiny tiny brush.
Also, mage sure to color every single independent element on a separate layer, or even in multiple layers if it's particularly complex. I had upwards of twenty layers in this picture, four of which were devoted to the eye alone. It can get crazy, and I'm not sure if ntt being a perfectionist is a help or a hindrance in such a case x3
