If you don't watch me on deviantART, here's what you need to know. I am totally into Yu-Gi-Oh (I've seen the abridged series and I'm currently watching Duel Monsters in Japanese). And I am a total Puzzleshipper. Anyway, about the picture.
I have no story whatsoever behind this, I just wanted to draw Yugi being comforted by Yami. Maybe he got picked on at school or something. I mean, he does run around playing children's card games all day.
Yami is quite willing to hold onto his aibou (partner), as he always comforts him when he needs it. He was supposed to have a more ghostlike look to him, which is how he usually appears, but I decided not to. Meh, whatever.
LET IT BE KNOWN THAT I HATE CHAINS AND EVERYTHING THEY STAND FOR. ._.
I know there are several mistakes here. Like Yugi's hair. From this side, the yellow was supposed to be angled different. However, the ref I used was originally facing the opposite direction (therefore showing the other side of his head) and like an idiot, I mirrored it to get the angle I wanted. FFF- I won't make that mistake again.
This was quite a change from drawing Invader Zim, lemme tell ya. Hands with five fingers, whut? IMPOSSIBLE. Yugi's hand is fisted just out of tenseness... he'll relax in a few moments.
