Erin Jesse James, a retired Army MP, who got discharged after sustaining an injury from an IED while on patrol with a squad of soldiers. Took a piece of shrapnel right up through his right cheek and out the upper half of his head. While he walked away with a perfectly stable mental condition, he was permanently impaired eyesight in his dominant right eye, gave him an untreatable lazy eye. He was unable to aim properly down a rifle without seeing double. He could have just put on an eyepatch and train to rely on his left eye, which is nearsighted. He declined the offer to continue serving, and took the discharge, thinking the Army had too many rules and regulations for his comfort, and like his notorious ancestor, he had a problem with authority.
Two years retired and going back to living the farm life, where it was simple, could work however he wanted, didn't have to suck up to whoever had the shiniest medal, or worry about some savage running at him with an AK47 or explosives strapped to his chest for that matter.
Erin went to work alongside an old friend of his on a prosperous ranch, tasked with helping with heavy lifting, and watching the gate around closing time, the visit of unwanted guests has dropped sharply since the former MP took the job, brandishing a 50 caliber beast which in actual is loaded with blanks, in case the initial sight of it doesn't ward off pests, the sound of gunfire certainly will.
His favourite past times are kicking back and drinking coffee while playing some classical country music on his red wood acoustic, and old rock on his autographed Rickenbacker electric guitar. An odd perk to him is his doctors advised he can't drink alcohol because of his injury. He can drink coffee, but if he drinks too much and gets a withdrawal, it could very much kill him.
Still single, Even in his mid 30s, Erin is a hard working stallion, has grown to put his job before his comfort and pleasure. He rarely ever complains if a job is tasking on him, only usually when it is too easy. Some on the ranch claims he works too hard. He learned the hard way in the Army, that you get what you put into your work; if you want 110%, you damn well better put in 110% percent to earn it.

This is one of my older characters I just recently redeveloped, put together for an rp to come. This was also more of a practice on how well I can draw the face of a horse, and i ended up realizing it is almost like drawing Ren's face a bit, but not so boxlike or mutton chop style hair.
The music I listened to for inspiration was the Credence Clearwater Revival's Fortunate Son, Bob Dylan's Time's are a changing, and some Kenny Chesney music.
