I write roleplaying material as a hobby, mainly for the post-apoc/science fiction/epic fantasy RIFTS roleplaying game produced by palladium books, as evidenced by my username.
back in in 2001, i wrote up an article for the companies quarterly periodical and submitted it. just a dozen pages on a little nation on the american west coast. part of the contents was a new race of dimensionally stranded intelligent Dromeosaurs i caleld the Dromi. yeah, the name is pretty unimaginative, but i was just out of high school and it was my first serious attempt at writing. plus i'm lousy at coming up with names.
at the time, the companies policy on artwork was pretty loose, so i comissioned my online friend Osmatar from the Speculative Dinosaur project to draw up some artwork to go with the article, illustrating a Dromi. although at the time it was still in the development name of "red raptor", after the races predominant coloration. like i said, i'm not good with names. so she drew this up. i don't know what occupation she intended this being to represent, but it feels rather like a martial artist type warrior to me.
sadly the companies policy on artwork changed so i could no longer use commissioned artwork with the submission, so the final version i sent in didn't have the artwork. the article never got published, certainly due to the rather lousy writing i did back then, but i still plan to revist this race at some point. maybe write up an artiicle on their home universe some day.
i've not made a fursona around this character, though given that there are now rules for Dinosaur character's in Palladium's excellent after the Bomb post-apoc Anthromorphic RPG, i probably could easily enough. i've always been a fan of Dromeosaurs..at least, ever since getting hooked on dinosaurs in high school (oddly enough, i wasn't a dino-phile as a kid..guess i was too much into space travel and astronomy)
