This is the last in my art therapy for divorce series. For more info (not much more, but a little) check out the first of the series: The Song
After the Pirate moved out, and after completing this piece, I decided to come back to the same 30 images that totally eluded my abilities when I was attempting the project that produced Watching the End and Mourning the End. I started over from scratch and ended up with this. I'm really happy with it, and it's very expressive of my state surrounding this change in my life.
The emotions are complicated. Sometimes I feel angry, sometimes sad, but mostly I'm just me, and I'm ok. The road goes ever on and on.
Thank the gods for polyamory though. I'm really glad I'm not alone right now.
Anyway, this image uses 2 of my own pieces (accounting for 20 of the 30 images in question).

Interesting. Yes, the lion did come out as the central figure. I see him as serene though, lending an overall calm to the total piece. Yes, there is some anger on the right, and some sadness on the left - it's not an unemotional piece by any means - but it's not a cacophony to me. It's like, yes, all of that is there, but the lion is handling it with grace.
I mean ... as an artist, I love when other people have different interpretations of my work, and I love that it's so wildly open to interpretation as a rule, so I'm not trying to argue with you. Just ... fascinated that it looks different to us.
