My family had a female BCD when I was growing up. At one point, we got four peking ducklings. Daisy decided they were her babies and for as long as we had them, she kept trying to mother them. Even when they'd go swimming, she would sometimes swim right after them, attempting to herd them back into the yard. When we didn't have them anymore, she tried to do the same with the wild ducks. The day she died, she was found at the edge of the pond, probably died while standing on the bank barking at the ducks.
