The caretakers at Quack Quack's Learning Farm have been seeing and hearing a lot about a certain show involving brightly colored ponies who are big on friendship. This prompted them to come up with a special day for the kids where they could each make their own special symbols to wear. They called it "Pony Magic".
The way it worked was each kid got told to make what the caretakers called a "Talent Tag". Once each child was done, the caretakers would help tape the tag to the front of each kid's shirt so they could run around and share what made them special with all the other kids. At the end of the day, the kids would all get together for a special Circle Time to talk about what new friends they made and what cool stuff they learned about the kids they played with over the course of Pony Magic.
This wasn't enough for Yosh and Toroth, though.
Yosh and Toroth were big bronies and knew a Talent Tag could never compare to a Cuite Mark. So, while the caretakers were distracted, the duo snuck off with some fingerpaints to get to work at showing how much they knew and loved their favorite show.
At first they practiced drawing on their diapers. However, Toroth soon pointed out that diapers come off and that the ponies don't have their real cutie marks on their clothes. They have them on their flanks.
After the two got out of their diapers, they went about figuring out where their "flank" was. Dino-ducks and dragons aren't quite ponies after all. This is when Yosh remembered something Nishi had told him and said they should put them on their bottoms. Toroth agreed, dipped his hands into the paint, and went about trying to draw on his rump.
Upon realizing drawing on their backsides was impossible, the two agreed to paint each other's. They were brothers after all and knew exactly what the other one liked. So, Yosh drew a collection of red balloons with a rainbow on Toroth while Toroth drew a star-speckled ducky on Yosh.
By the time they had finished, one of the caretakers had noticed the two missing and had gone on the hunt. This is how she found them and what is in store for our cheeky duo is certainly a tale all its own.

<LoL!> There probably are a few bronies out there showing their pony-pride in their posterior.
On a fun note, I bet it'd be fun to have an intimate friend to whom you could show your "cutie mark" to. Perhaps even have one made in honor of your relationship.
Long before MLP: Friendship is Magic, I actually toyed with such an idea with the Mrs. Being a cutie-wootie, I think it'd be fun to have a cutie-mark that always showed how much my Tina Bear meant to me. *Schmubby-Wubby*

Yeah. I believe the caretaker made it a point to get us both padded back up ASAP upon finding our little arts-and-crafts sight. Though, I imagine neither were easy changes as both know the diaper would cover up all their hard work.
Ah, the trials of being a tot. *Giggles*

Y'know, I thought about that after I went with the first thing that popped in my head.
Perhaps, in this case, the two just knew the types of diapers the other like to wear and went off the designs they knew and loved? Down the road, I imagine both would come to evolve their cutie marks as they realized they could do more than their favorite nappy designs. :)
