"I'm alone... and I'm scared... I'm so scared."
I wasn't sure which one to post, so I decided upon both. <3
Artwork is by the incredibly talented Jennadelle and depicts a scene out of our post-apoc/nuclear winter side project Sanctus Sol. This would be about a month after Dex is killed in an ambush. In his grief, Lux has taken to writing letters to her discussing his travels- kind of like a verbal map for her to follow, as though she could simply rise from the dead and one day find him again.
The writing on the wall comes from a text file I have, which. Is pretty much just a collection of the notes he would leave her and reads:
“AD 2501
Dear Dexter,
I know it’s been two weeks since I last wrote to you. It’s hard to make a scheduled routine out of something when the wasteland is neither routine, nor ordinary.
I find myself often thinking of you and how, reluctantly, I had to leaving you resting along Carrigan’s Pass. I hope that you’ll one day understand why I had to go on alone and that you can find it within yourself to forgive me for what I’ve done.
Was it really over a month ago that we parted ways? I pray that they have treated you kindly where you are, and that you’re not too lonely without me. Despite how little time has passed since our parting, I miss you with every fiber of my being and every part of my soul. At times, I can only take comfort in knowing that in your twenty-one years of a miserable existence, I was at least capable of providing you with the best three years you had ever known.
Could you ever forgive a fool for being unable to help you when you needed someone most?
-Lux"
Anyways, art is, once again, by Jennadelle.
Lux, Sanctus Sol, and related concepts[created by myself] belong to me.

It's funny you mention them; while the scene it's self wasn't inspired by it, I did snag the first line from After Great Pain from the Ambush of Ghosts OST. The song fits the image so very well.
Oh gawds, no, never. They're two completely different characters with two entiiirely different storylines.
...not that I ever really went to any length to explain Link's story, but. Her realm deals with a lot of spirituality, metaphor and well. Personal angst. All the stories involving Lux tend to depict a bitter and sometimes grim reality, regardless of the setting.
