I think it's oil pastels that I can't stand...they're like too soft crayons that just get everywhere. I don't think I've actually tried chalk pastels tho P:

I'm more easy with oil pastels because they're like chunks of hard, waxy paint. You get used to smudging them (or adding water to make them watercolor-y) and they're more manageable.

Oh, and my art teacher drilled me into doing still life after still life until I had no choice but to like them.

Although when you say "adding water" that would be something I'd be willing to try if I am ever forced to work with them again xD

It's only for water soluble oil pastels _{which seems like an oxymoron really} , so make sure to double-check the label. It's pretty fun and you can get some nice textures out of it, since it dries really fast.

I love acrylic, so it's no problem for me.

I actually had to use Conte Crayons (sort of like pastels) in my drawing class last quarter and...well I'll just say I dun good >.<:;;

Ah, I've never actually used conte crayons. They look gorgeous, though, so I need to get on that!

I was working on that beastie I was making for you last night. :3 I've got this idea, where they have big lynx ears with those feathery thingers you wanted on the tips of their ears. Then they have a unicorn horn that arcs back between the ears. A little flame is at the tip of the horn, and burns their horn down like a candle (minus wax) until it reaches the end and they die. :B

That's so depressing, but how bout instead of 1 there's like 3 or four? like a big set of horns then a smaller one in front or something? I just have something against 1 horned animals >_>;;;
