In Unity against SOPA/PIPA
All I did was put the 4 images together. Found the images on Google, because I'm a pirate :D

They're voting on it pretty soon, and it seems a large number of senators and representatives have retracted their support due to the huge online uprising against it. Wikipedia, Reddit, Valve, Mozilla, Google (which of course also means YouTube), FourSquare, Twitter, and many other sites have publicly stood up against it. Wikipedia actually shut down for 24hrs to show their opposition.
media wants to turn the internet into exactly what's wrong with television and commercial radio.
its only because right now it belongs to everyone, and places like f.a. can be accessed for no additional charge then it takes to get on line.
if corporate media succeeds in screwing up the internet they way they have other media and government itself, there really will no longer be any point to it, and the tyranny of organized crime will have been made complete.

Sadly, that isn't even the worst part. For even being on a site that could be suspected of unknowingly hosting copyright infringing content, by having any user generated content whatsoever that could possibly considered copyright infringing, even if it's not, FA, it's owners, and even it's users could be deemed as internet pirates and FA will be shut down and fined without a trial. To the American Government, Pirates are considered cyber terrorists. And because of The Patriot Act, terrorists can be locked up in Guantanamo and tortured without a trial. That or the FBI will just bust down your door and shoot you on the spot.
This can happen for any website with user generated content.
What only makes matters worse, is that Anonymous, Team Hav0k, and Zer0LULZ are also actively opposing the bills. If either of these bills get passed, the backlash sure to follow from these groups would cause the government to take even further extreme measures. I'll be honest, I'm scared to know that they're in this.

well you know all those dire predictions about 2012, i really think it was this kind of thing they were really all about.
i know we can fight this thing and i know it can be defeated.
i know also, if it isn't, well that's how germany ended up with hitler.
yes i agree it is really that serious and fundamental to the kind of world we all have to live in.
i know that heroes attract their own martyrdom and increase polarization, but they too have come into existence because of these conditions that demand them.

Honestly, all this SOPA shit makes me believe in 12/21/12 quite a bit more. Right now, I think our only hope to stop this is the hacktivist collective I listed above. Anonymous alone already fucked over like a dozen government sites in less than a day as a warning, so I'm feeling a little better about things. Once the other hacktivist groups come into play, I think we really stand a better chance.
