What a fun read! Not knowing the genre of the story when I started the read made the … well the “surprise part” of the story more of a surprise.
On the technical side of the writing, there were no abrupt breaks in logic or bumpy turns in the plot flow, which made the story enjoyable from beginning to end.

Hey thanks for the link-leads, Indy. I found the picture (pointed to by your first link-lead) to be very intriguing (or maybe just cute -- I haven‘t quite decided yet). If I saw any other furry artwork with a crux in it I will certainly pay attention to it.
Then, after reading the entry in Wikifur that your second link-lead pointed to I found myself wishing that all created characters/creatures were given as much of a “why” explanation by thier creators as the Crux have been given.

You're welcome, Lionus. It's actually on the species list here for when you do a search. I looked up the species to make sure I got a good idea about them before starting to write.
Hehe, having such an open origin certainly helps in creativity. Of course, their entry also indicated a possible species characteristic that I thought would lend itself well to the story.
