FINALLY! Coming up with a story for this chapter was tougher than I thought it would be... In the end, to populate the Chemical Plant, I introduced Robo-Robotnik... That's what my brother and I used to call the Eggrobo who piloted the boss machines if you played as Knuckles in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Lol... Well, we were kids. But it's not a bad name for the commander of the Eggrobos. As for Slash... I just made him up on the spot. Like almost all of my robot characters, he's just a recolor, but anyway... this way one of those annoying Slicers from Metropolis Zone gets into the story.
Rejected stages for Sonic 2 for my story include Mystic Cave and Oil Ocean. Ultimately, I thought Chemical Plant served the story best. Next up, I think I'll be doing a Sonic CD level! Which means more delays... My knowledge of Sonic CD is not as good as the other games in the series. Any stage suggestions? Not Palmtree Panic! That's just Green Hill with triangle patterns! I might do Collision Chaos, I seem to know that stage best, since it's the last one and my save file keeps sending me there. Well, we'll see...
