Day 3 Part 1
Benjamin woke up with the sunlight piercing his curtains and hitting his face. He slowly got up and stretched his whole body. He felt great since he had a good night of sleep.
He remembered some of his dream from that night. He was outside, under an old oak tree. He was able to see a big ranch and a huge house. The sun was setting as he laid down for a rest. He felt peaceful there. He felt safe in that dream.
Benjamin then looked at the clock and it read six o’clock. He decided not to go for a jog today, considering the event that happened the day before. He just rushed into the bathroom and took a shower. He then put on his cloths and combed his fur.
Around 6:20, he was already done and he headed to the kitchen.
Once Benjamin got to the kitchen, he took a tray and got himself some breakfast. He chose an abundance of food. Two eggs, two pieces of toast, a blueberry muffin, a small stack of pancakes, and two bottles of ice cold apple juice.
Benjamin found a spot next to William and started to eat. While Benjamin was eating, William went ahead and told Benjamin his routines for the day.
“Benjamin”, said William, “today, you will have to mow the grass at the entrance and the park. Then around ten, there is a crew at the pond, setting up for Jennifer’s party. Please help them by moving some crates. Do whatever they say Benjamin.”
Benjamin didn’t know that Jennifer was having a party. He assumed that it was a birthday party, but he truly had no idea what it was. He wondered why he wasn’t informed about the party.
“Also”, said William, “Samantha would like your help. It appears that you know a great deal about pianos. Samantha would like you to help her with a special project.”
“Fine”, Benjamin replied.
Benjamin continued to eat his breakfast. He wondered what kind of challenges he would face. He knew that they could surprise him with anything, so he planned to stay alert throughout the day.
Once Benjamin finished his breakfast, he headed out toward the entrance where the gardener from the day before was there waiting. Near the gardener was a electric-powered lawn mower.
Benjamin crept slowly toward the gardener, observing his surroundings and preparing for a trap. He tried to detect every sound and scent that was noticeable.
“Well, it’s good to see you again, Benjamin”, greeted the gardener.
Benjamin replied, “It’s nice to see you to”.
“Now today, you’re going to mow the lawn in the entrance and park area. Now, as big as that sounds, it’s quite easy.” said the gardener, “Now, I’s sure you know how to uses one of these”.
The gardener pushed the lawn mower to Benjamin. Benjamin held it and noticed that there was a touch-pad.
It was assorted with a magnitude of icons that represented many symbols. Some of them were obvious that Benjamin could figure out; while others were confusing to him.
The gardener then told Benjamin, “just push the green button to go and red to stop. The rabbit means fast and the turtle means slow. When the bag is full, it will drop and change to a new bag automatically. Good luck”
At that, the gardener left Benjamin alone to do his work.
When the gardener was gone, Benjamin started to inspect the machine. He tried to pick up any traces of signs that might show a trap.
Once he felt that the area was safe, he started his job. However, he didn’t kept his guard down.
Benjamin hesitated when he was about to press the green icon that started the lawn mower. He then pressed the icon and a loud engine started as the lawn mower began to move. He grabbed the end and led the mower to its direction.
He worked on the entrance, still cautious about his surroundings.
After thirty minutes, he finally finished the entrance and headed toward the park. He was still cautious and didn’t let his guard down.
When Benjamin got to the park, he noticed that there were many people working there. Many of them were moving crates and supplies for the party. Other than that, the park was still hectic and thriving.
Benjamin then worked on the park for the next hours or so until he finished mowing the park.
To his complete surprise, nothing happened. No traps, no challenges, no attacks; nothing. Benjamin whispered to himself, “Nothing’s happening?” in a confused manner. Benjamin just played with it, still being cautious.
Benjamin then brought the lawn mower back to the entrance. He discovered that the gardener was already there, waiting for him.
Benjamin told him, “I finished”.
“Great Benjamin, looks like you did a good job”, said the gardener.
“Now…”, the gardener begun to say as he reached into his pocket.
As that moment, Benjamin suspected that it was a trap. The gardener was either reaching for the remote to zap him or a weapon to attack him. Either way, Benjamin prepared himself for the worst.
However, the gardener took out a small bottle of ice, cold water and handed it to Benjamin.
“It’s really hot outside. You must be a bit tired. Here, I got this for you.” said the gardener.
Benjamin was relieved and gave a sigh of grief as he took the bottle from the gardener’s hands. Benjamin first inspected the bottle before he drunk it. He was still suspicious of the gardener and assumed that the bottle was some kind of trap.
Benjamin opened it very slowly and took a small sip of the water. He swallowed it and prepared for some event. In Benjamin’s mind, he suspected poison or something that would have numbed his body. Thus, making him vulnerable to any attacks.
To his other surprise, nothing happened. It was just plain water.
Benjamin then drunk the whole bottle, emptying it till there wasn’t a single drop left.
“Um…thanks” Benjamin said.
The gardener told him, “no problem. Now get going, you still have some more work to do I presume.”
At that, Benjamin headed off to the courtyard.
At once, he noticed the numerous amounts of servants setting up for the party.
In fact, the courtyard was filled with an abundance of ribbons, flags, and other party decorations. There were many tables covered with crystal-like sheets and very compatible chairs. Balloons filled the entire courtyard.
Benjamin had a hard time moving thru the crowd of hard-working servants.
After ten minutes, Benjamin finally got thru the courtyard and continued his way toward the pond.
Once Benjamin got to the pond, he wasn’t surprised to see another crowd of people setting up for the party. However, those guys weren’t servants. They were all wearing orange t-shirts that stated, ‘Greg’s Concert Team’.
After a few seconds, a man walked up to Benjamin. He was different from the others. He had a blue t-shirt instead of an orange one.
“Hey, you must be Benjamin. Nice to meet you. Aaron told me you were coming to help. I’m Seth”. Seth then offered his hand to Benjamin.
Benjamin shook his hand and asked, “What do you want me to do?”
Seth then told Benjamin, “well, right now, were setting up the stage for the concert. We could use your help. If you head west, there is a truck full of crates.”
Seth pointed Benjamin in the direction. Benjamin saw a huge truck, more of a moving van with many people attempting to lift wooden crates. The walking distance was around a quarter of a mile.
“Can you move the crate over here? Once there all here, well open them and set up. I must warn you, there really heavy.” Seth said.
“Sure”, said Benjamin.
Benjamin then headed his was his way toward the truck. As he approached there, there were a group of four people unloading the crates off the van. As Benjamin was about to lift a crate, one of the workers told him, “Are you sure you got it? It’s really heavy.”
Benjamin still attempted to lift the crate. In one shot, Benjamin boosted the crate and was easily holding it up.
Benjamin walked it over back to Seth where he was waiting for Benjamin and the crate.
“Wow, Aaron was right. You are strong. Just keep this up, okay.” Seth told him.
At that, Benjamin nodded and continued to move the crates back and forth.
Meanwhile, in the northern building, Master Aaron is walking toward his studies. To his surprise, Mr. Magus awaits in front of his studies.
“Hello Aaron, how are you?” Mr. Magus questioned.
“Fine Magus”, Aaron replied, “but move, I got no time for this. I have to help plan my little daughter’s birthday party”
“Oh, but assure me, this will only take a few minutes”, Mr. Magus announced.
“Fine Magus”, Aaron told him, “but do hurry.”
Master Aaron led Mr. Magus in his studies. They headed toward the desk. Mr. Magus took a seat and waited for Aaron, who was heading to a small cabinet nearby.
Master Aaron opened the cabinet to reveal a small black fridge with a clear cover. Mr. Magus could see a huge variety of wine and alcoholic bottles there.
Master Aaron took out a small, green bottle that resembled a very rare wine bottle.
“Care for a drink Magus. This is a Chteau Le Pin Pomerol 1999 bottle. It is rich in flavor and d one of my personal favorites.” asked Aaron.
“No thanks Aaron”, Mr. Magus said.
“Suit yourself”, Aaron said as he poured a glass of wine on a small cup.
Master Aaron walked over to the back on his desk and sat down. “So, what do you want Magus?” asked Aaron.
“Well”, Mr. Magus started, “I came to ask how he is doing.”
“Who… oh, you mean Benjamin. Yah, he’s fine. He is doing a much better than when he came. He seems to be really fond of my kids. Samantha really likes him.”
“It’s great and all that Benjamin is getting use to his new arrangements, but I need to know, has there been any sudden changes with him. Anything at all?”
“Well, not really. I looked over the videos last night, and I didn’t detect anything wrong with him. But if you want, well look over at today’s surveillance footage.”
Mr. Magus nodded in agreement. Master Aaron took opened a table draw and took out a book. Within the book was a button. Once Aaron pressed it, a book shelf opened to reveal the secret room.
Master Aaron led Mr. Magus within the concealed room to a dark room with many small television screens showing footage from all over the mansion.
Upon one screen was Benjamin working at the park. Mr. Magus and Master Aaron continued to monitor the screens, until they saw something. On the screen near the truck, was a mysterious masked figure acting.
“Well, this should be interesting”, Mr. Magus said to himself.
Seth and his crew started to open the crates as soon as Benjamin finished. Benjamin noticed that many of them were electrical speakers and other components. The stage was just a small portion of the wreckage of crates.
At that moment, Jennifer walked toward the pond. She was taking a stroll around the estate. She then noticed Benjamin and walked up to him.
“Hey Benjamin, how are you today”, Jennifer asked.
“Fine, how about you?” Benjamin replied.
“Wonderful! The ground is full of energy and excitement. This will be the best birthday party ever! Anyway, Sam told me that she wanted to play with you. Do you mind if you play with her now?” Jennifer asked.
Benjamin told Jennifer, “I don’t know. Seth, do you still need me?”
“Well”, Seth said, “It would be great to have some more help, but you did your part and we can handle the rest”.
Jennifer told Seth, “thanks”. She then grabbed Benjamin’s hand and dragged him toward the truck, on their way to Samantha.
As they were walking, Benjamin heard a noise behind him; the sound of a gun being loaded. He turned to see a dark figure. He was wearing a black suit with a ski mask covering his face.
