Merry meatballs with this stunning sauce from the kitchens of
reian
So, since I was home alone, I decided to make something different. I used a basis of one recipes, but modified it quite a bit and have listed further modifications below!
Homemade Turkey Meatballs and Sauce
Meatballs:
1 lb. of Ground Turkey
2 tbsp of ground garlic or 1 large clove of chopped garlic
1/8 Cup of parsely
1/4 cup of breadcrumbs(I use panko, but any can be used)
1 egg
1/4 cup of Parm cheese
Dash of sea salt
Dash of white pepper
Sauce:
28 oz. can of crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp of crushed garlic/ 1 large clove diced
1 tbsp of italian seasoning, or a basil and parsley mix
1/2 Bay leaves
Put all of the ingredients for the meatballs in a bowl and mix together. Pull of small pieces and gently roll into balls. Do not pack tight, or the turkey will dry out!
In crockpot, add can of sauce and seasonings. If you choose to use cloves of garlic, sautee to a light brown color first. If not, add garlic to mixture.
Put in turkey meatballs evenly in the crockpot, making sure to cover as much as possible with sauce. To do this I covered the bottom of the sauce can with water and swish around and then poured it over.
Turn on low/250 Farenhite and allow to cook for 4 to 6 hours. I moved mine around to reduce burning or the sauce becoming to thick.
Make pasta of choice and combine in bowl! ENJOY
*If you don't have 4 to 6 hours to cook, you can put them in a pan and brown for fifteen minutes. Then put in crockpot to finish cook for 2 to 3 hours.
Get back to me if you have further recommendations!
