Here's my slime OC, Elizabeth. As far as slimes go, she is one of the lucky few to not only possess a great degree of sentience, but boasts a high intelligence quotient as well. She is an accomplished scientist, very much an expert in fluid dynamics, an area of study pursued for self interest (if that wasn't obvious).

She looks so composed and refined.
Wonder how the membrane forms, like does she purposely gloops a few flatstrangs and coat it in the solution? or does she sorta stir the solution into herself and it picks it's own colour?
Wonder how a tux or a pantsuit would look on her.

she stirs it with herself and it becomes heterogeneous and sorta "floats" to the surface of her "skin", forming itself there. There, it basically functions kind of how a cell membrane would.
Changing her color sounds like a neat idea; maybe injecting a few dyes into her body and/or hair for special occassions? :3
Oo, a pantsuit...I'm a straight dude, and even I'm getting a little giddy about how I can dress her up xD
p.s. (what are flatstrangs?)

Oh.....only just read the description more closely....thought she stirred the solution into her skin to produce solidification and colouration, giving the appearance of clothes....sorta assumed that because the hair was one whole piece, but is shiny. 0,0
but an invisible skin, that would be interesting....does she shed the skins, or does it soften with time? :O

lol yeah, the clothes are actually clothing xD
As for the skin, it would wear down gradually over time, so it would shed. Not all at once like a snake, it wouldn't be readily noticeable. She'd just have to reapply the solution every now and again.
(To be honest, the idea is starting to sound a little tedious. Maybe there's something better she can do that will allow her to wear clothing without soaking them)

Guess she could always develop a solution that thickens her slime, and that she's learned to churn her body subconsciously so that it doesn't gloop? (think how Custard works)
either that or clothing that's thick on the inside, and regular on the outside. :D
My thoughts on slimegirls is....
• Their body composition depends on their surroundings, if they have impulses to acquire sustenance on the food they find, their body would attempt to adapt to dissolve the food.
• With time and experience, a slimegirl can control their bodily abilities, meaning if they constantly think about not dissolving their cotton clothes, their slime will try to repel wool subconsciously. (similar to water and oil)
• With love and devotion, a slimegirl are unable harm to their lovers by accident, as their slime has accepted their DNA as a no-consume product, a deep enougth understanding will start a reactive process where the 2 can melt together, or the slimegirl can produce a slimeling; a baby slime-hybrid. :)
Could justify it that she already preferred a slightly more solid form with the custard thing. :O

I assume a slime's natural behavior is that they digest things to sustain themselves purely on a primal level, hence they come with enough acidity to dissolve the objects around them, their acidity may even be "genetic" to an extent, acquiring a mind of it's own.
Like, some objects might be insoluble, so they might have to be absorbed in smaller or a more liquidy form, lakes that has traces of bronze might enable native slimes to dissolve bronze coins and such. (slimegirls almost always return back to their home to give birth, so that their slimelings can dissolve their usual food and survive, milk/water can be consumed by all)
Once a slimeling grows large enough it'll display the ability to form limbs from their body, possibly using undissolved objects for the sake of "bones", Slimegirls we see in modern society might have evolved just enough generations to be considered as a separate species from wild slimes, meaning they will gain sentience as soon as they're born, the amount of sentience depends on the genetic material their parent has willfully accepted.
Though like people, Slimegirls has quirks, evolutional throwbacks may be common, such as the inability of remaining solid in emotional circumstances, or even extreme acidity, though those can be lessened or controlled with diet and subconscious therapy, their entire body is an extension of their psyche, it's only trying to survive by adapting.

I just came up with it, sorta sounds feasible considering that most slimegirls isnt inherently acidic in art, unless the specific type of artwork demands it....like guro... :x
She looks like she knows how her body works, maybe shes using some sort of chemical that could've been poisonous to slimes, but now it's only leaving a smooth flexible carapace around the body and joint areas, slimegirls' physiology is almost an indistinguishable mix of science and magic, the acidity of her body probably depends on what was passed down to her. (or maybe the pill may have been a semi-placebo, its magic after all) :D
Guess the shoes could be justified as an unatural material that her ancestors never came against, thus she imprinted it as safe by the community she grew up in, her skirt does look slightly latexy though. :p
What would you call a group of young/baby slimegirls anyway...a clutch/brood of slimelings? when is a girl still a girl...slimemaidens? slimequeens? :O

I assume it starts off small, maybe producing near lakes, woods or caves, eventually it might get a sentient being....most beings gets consumed, however some slimes might "mutate" and assosiate the pleasure of feeding with mating, accepting DNA, producing beastial slimes.
Sort of a fridge horror if the common slimegirl's ancestors might have became what they are because their parent consumed a living person...or even mated with one! :o
In a humanoid society, guess their bodies might restrict them in some way, often taking up meanial tasks, such as cleaning or police work, or possibly become marine slimes; slimegirls whose bodies doesn't dissipate in sea water, they save other slimes.
Possibly their culture leans slightly on a caste-based system based on their bodies, once it defined how they hunt for food, now it basically defines what job they have...though since slimegirls has aquired sentience, the younger ones might bring shame to longer lines of slime families, escaping to other cities.
but that probably happened eons ago, now they're the generic slimeigrls we all know and love.
Though they will NOT accidentally consume or even consume living animals, babies or children though; that's their human conscience kicking in.
Slime X Other is common, Human X Slime is extremely rare since Humans only accepts DNA from their own kind, though it's probably even rarer to see a Slimeboy, let alone a fertile one. (possibly a genetic mutation, slimes are basically asexual before it mutated/learned the definition of genders)

I must admit I've not looked much into slimes but something about them intrigues me greatly.. especially the way you draw them, cant quite put my finger on it but you manifest them in a way that captures my interest~ awesome picture! And a nice little bio to go with it~
