A new adoptable that I'll be putting up with the next batch. :3
I call it the mighty Graehop, as that was the first sound that popped into my head upon completion.
Inspirations: Stegosaurus, bird, lynx, thing with a bladed tail. fluffy butts.
Information
Graehop society can be, at best, described as chaotic. Because they communicate through flashing the strange oval plates that float above their back, a group of Graehop in one place would see like a rave party to any who happened to stumble upon it. They are very social creatures, and always seem to be 'saying' something with their plates.
It is not known how many different words make up their 'vocabulary', but its estimated somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000. There are usually mute, relying solely on their flashy plates but occasionally they will squawk or cluck if startled or angry.
Graehop live solely on the ground in both forests in plains- anywhere with decent hiding spots, food and nesting material. Their nests are made with any materials found which is most often grasses, sticks, moss, and their own fur which they pluck from their rumps. A nesting mother may have a 'bald butt' from using her own fur to insulate her nest.
A female Graehop will lay up to 6 eggs, once a year. While nesting her mate will bring her food and keep her company. The eggs will hatch within a month and a half, but will not leave the nest until they are close to 7 months of age.
Graehop are roughly 3ft at the shoulder.
Their diet consists of large insects and small rodents, reptiles and amphibians.
