and they were described as androgynous
so no one really knows the actual gender yet, but they could very well not identify with either male or female u u

I am quite the avid fan of homestuck, yes. I mean if the book series Complacency of the Learned was already completely written, which it sounds like it was from the way it was being narrated, then there would be plenty of time for Cal's gender to be revealed to the reader, so the fact that the narration explicitly pegged them as androgynous and used the mixed pronoun seems to imply the Cal entity doesn't strongly identify as either of the typical genders out of thel binary.

there is just a silly part of me that really wants cal to be a male, but..
i'd be okay if the actual gender was never revealed..
it leaves a lot of freedom and room for interpretation
and it's sort of a win-win situation for everyone, too
because then no one would really be wrong or right about the gender?
