mm ive only carved about 4 stamps thus far but I can say what seems to be most key is sharp tools and quality carving medium. i pretty much determine quality by trial and error. honestly ive been using those little white hi-polymer erasers because they're very easy to carve from and im still getting used to it so if i royally fuck up im only out a buck or two, or theyre thick enough that i can flip it over and recarve the other side anyway. only downside there being size of them obviously, but some art stores carry bigger like 2x3 sized ones which are awesome stamp size. i have some linoleum waiting in the wings but its been intimidating me :B
I have yet to use that but I was planning on trying it at some point. definitely would appreciate your input on it! yeah i went all out on tools and got some really nice powergrips from a japanese company for a surprisingly reasonable price (recommended by
pac ). I believe it was 30 or 40 for about 5 of them and I really love them! If youre curious Ill post back with their website later because I gotta run at the moment. I look forward to seeing how it turns out!
