I painted this tiger for Furry Weekend Atlanta's charity auction to benefit the Conservator's Center in NC. They were kind enough to supply me with some photos, and this tiger is based off a few of them. If I have time this spring, I hope to paint another one of their many animals for the auction as well! :]
The original painting will be sold at FWA's charity auction this March! All proceeds of the auction benefit the Conservator's Center!

Breathtaking work of a stunning animal. *purr*
Slightly random question and hopefully not too forward or offensive to ask: although you aren't (currently? often? ever?) open for commissions, what would your stance be on someone hypothetically wanting to get one of your existing pieces as a tattoo (or to be used as a potential basis of one)... would that be open for consideration? (just wondering -- as a big fan of your tiger work)

This is absolutely stunning! The face. . . those ears. . . those PAWS. . . . . . the EYES. I cannot stop looking right back at those eyes, they're so amazing. I love eyes with all my heart and you paint them so beautifully. Dear God, I am in love with this picture. Great work and, please, keep it up.
Even with the looseness of the paint, I love the realism and perspective in this piece. I wish there was just a little more contrast and richer darks in this scan/photo, but that's probably just the photo/scan itself.
Nonetheless, amazing work as always. It's not often we get to see the purely natural (not just non-anthro, but stylistically realistic) style from you, it seems. Gorgeous work. And a great subject to boot. :)

hey blotch I hope you don't mind but I wanted you to see the contrast potential on this picture of yours http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12703692/ar....._persevere.jpg
I am super picky when it comes to art of tigers but I can say without a doubt this is the BEST tiger art I have ever seen, which includes world known artists such as Robert Baitmen. The soul is THERE and you can feel it. That is what art is for not just doing something that a camera could do. Hats off to you!
Tia! At least, it most resembles the photo of Tia that I'm most familiar with. Blotch, it's absolutely breath-taking to see one of the cats I know and love come to life in such a beautiful piece of artwork. I know everyone at the Conservators' Center will dream of taking home a print of this, since (hopefully) the original is going to be far out of most of our reach. Looking forward to seeing this in person at FWA.
And seriously, thank you for doing it. From all the folks at the Center who aren't on FA, as well.
