I just have an idea of how I want something to look and I try to blend however I think I can achieve that look. I can't really tell you how to do it, just practice it and you'll see how different things look that way, that's the easiest way to learn how to do it. My very first tail I ever made had blending going on, so, it's kind of subconscious at this point XD
