Five years ago Jerry Fiera was the golden boy of the Poke-Combat Academy of Higher Learning. Smart, handsome, popular, star of both the school's pokeball team and the battle arena, he was the kind of guy everyone would have hated if only he weren't so cool. He graduated at the top of his class and was promptly drafted into "Uncle Felix" Blackclaw's Battle League. It was there that he quickly learned a harsh lesson about just how little being an academy all-star meant in the pros.

Jerry took on a different last name for his arena career, not wanting to ride the coattails of his mother (a well-known arena battler in her own right) but spent a good long while getting his tail kicked on a routine basis. But he was persistent and didn't give up, taking the lumps and learning from each defeat.

Now, five years into his career, he's just starting to come into his own. Jerry has become Felix Blackclaw's latest protege and the meowth is very rarely wrong about such things. Jerry has enjoyed a string of victories and has developed a cockiness in the arena, but one born of confidence, not arrogance. He's very popular among the fans of battle arena tournaments, especially young females.

Despite his sudden influx of fame and success, Jerry refuses to give in to the vices and shortcomings that ensnare many in his position. It's not his intention to be any sort of role model, but like it or not he is a very large one to his little sister Mitzi, and that's enough for him to play it straight and take no shortcuts in or out of the arena.

Jerry mixes potent flame attacks with superb physical strength and a surprising quickness in the arena. His spectacular Towering Inferno finishing attack, a Giga Impact punch backed by a Fire Blast, is one of the most feared and devastating in the league, and he intends to ride it, his talent, and determination all the way to the top.
