Here lies the Grand Canyon, a mere 45-50 minute drive from my home in Flagstaff. We took advantage of a free admission day recently and explored around the south rim. Although it was a blustery January day, the abundant cloud cover cast the canyon in even more majestic light. A worthy wonder of the world, it's a place that really stirs the spirit and inspires the imagination.

But, of course... you had to be there. Only once you leave the crowds and your everyday concerns behind can you truly experience even a fragment of its illimitable grandeur.
