Backstory:
About eight years ago I had an interest in trucks (not American ones) that just came out of nowhere. I would draw them at times. Then it subsided. Until about three months ago. It came back, stronger than before. So there you have it.
No idea what it's supposed to mean right now. I have no interest in their parameters, technology, I dislike tuning and modding. Just the feeling remains. Maybe it's something I'm meant to do, or whatever. I may never find out.
It's not perfect. Even now I see errors. But it's at least a third pic I tried to draw without screwing it up, so I'm content.
It's DAF XF105.
Enjoy and welcome a new division of Broken Industries: Broken Logistics.

i think i can tell you what it is... it might be the sensation. or the idea of it. i had a job a while ago for about a month with a car towing service so i got to ride in big trucks, like this one, whenever we were supposed to tow a car. i didn't drive it myself, didn't had the license for it, but i did get to ride with it on the passenger seat. and let me tell you, driving in a big truck is quite the experience. it really does give you a sense of superiority when not only you know you're in a big, powerful truck but you're also sitting highly elevated from pretty much everyone else. that is pretty awesome
Heheeeee! This is cool! I've been totally crazy about trucks when I was a youngster! I wanted to become a truckdriver and contacted all the big firms (Scania, DAF, MAN, Volvo) if they had posters and goodies for me. From DAF, I got a paper truck you had to build yourself of the truckmodel closely resembling the one you drew! Fun to see!
I never became a truckdriver, but I still like big trucks! Fun to see your drawing! ^^

Well, it started with a picture I saw on FA, where a dragon pisses against a giant truck tyre, and I began to love these big tyres, kinda a tyre fetish.
But then I also began to love the bully snout of these trucks (in a non sexual way) and the edged shape of the trailers in rear view, and I really love the sounds of these heavy engines - and the power of the trucks itself.
Now I have plenty of truck calendars (it is hard to find some without naked women in front of them!), a toy RC truck, and even a truck cookie cutter. In near future, I want to buy a professional RC truck model kit, proportion 1:14, which is very expensive and needs a very complex assembly. My biggest dream would be to be a passenger in a truck, but it will never be possible due of insurance shit, so no company would allow me to even sit in a truck.
I love the MAN trucks. But I also like DAF, Mercedes, and SCANIA. I don't like IVECO or Volvo or the US-style trucks. I'm very picky
In near future, I will have a trucker fursona, a nice lizard, Maybe you could draw him in his truck, too? ^^
Here are some pictures for my new "trucker world":

Oh I can relate quite a bit. I used to be indifferent about tires, but now I find them pretty and pleasing to touch. Same goes with trucks, their size, sound and general looks. But I'm not limited to trucks, also cars, planes and sometimes trains :)
I agree that naked females all over cars and trucks are pretty annoying. I personally only collect car brochures and ads, partly because they're free and easily accessible. Some day I'm hoping to design detailed vehicle papercrafts. I wouldn't mind sitting in a truck either. Have you heard about Euro Truck Simulator 2?
Funny enough, I don't really like MANs or most SCANIAs. But I'm all for European trucks. American ones look more like clumsy steam machines than majestic cargo haulers :P
Maybe I could draw him, but at this time most of my creative energy is focused on something different - 3D animation - and I don't really feel like picking up the pencil again yet. As for the first picture, I'm wondering why the MAM doesn't seem to have grilles, but just gaping holes at the front.

Yes, I heared of ETS2 ^^ I have it, but I didn't have time to play it yet. I only palyed the Demo for a few minutes. It is a bit pity that the AI is really bad and there are very less other drivers on the highway. A bit unrealistic.
It is hard to explain the MAM differences in English language. What I wanted to describe, is that it has an extended grill. The MAN trucks have a black plaquette with the logo in front of it, below the grill. For mine, the grille extends to the top. But it is only a small detail; it wouldn't be visible at all, since the palquette as well as the grille is black. I am not sure about this change either, and my vocabulary is too bad to describe it. The important part is that there is a German shepart in front of it instead of a lion, and that the trucks are more broad, and have a more comfortable sleeping zone. I had to choose MAM because of trademark shit; I prefer MAN as name still, it looks better.
Maybe you can design a MAN truck and animate him

Unrealistic, perhaps. But there are no real alternatives to it.
You misunderstand me. I mean the lower openings, where the radiator usually is. In that picture it looks like there's nothing in there, just big empty holes. In here (http://cloudlakes.com/data_images/m.....man-tgx-02.jpg) there is something. But perhaps it's all just accidental lighting issue.
Personally, I don't see why you couldn't use MAN anyway - it's not like you're using the trucks for commercial or advertisement purposes. At least, *I* wouldn't worry about it.
Vehicles are something that's on my list. But we'll see.

Hm, that is a good point. I am embarassed that I never noticed that before, on my beloved favorite truck brand. It doesn't look bad though, since the grill is below these 2 "holes". However, maybe I should change my "MAM" trucks so they have a grill like the DAF trucks at the position where these 2 holes are. Do you have an idea, how I can describe that in English language, for my MAM submission where I list the changes?
I'm not sure. I think the best way would be to show a picture. I guess you could say that the lower grille is like that of a DAF (specify a model). But you should consider how it affects the truck's look. You don't want to only take stuff from elsewhere - I think it should fit together.
Oh, and you wrote that you don't like MAN or SCANIA. So, which is your top-favorite list? Only DAF? Which one is on the second and third place?
About planes, do you love the Concorde? I love the design, especially the snout which can be lowered during landing approach. I also find blackhawks and other military planes cool

Well, I don't really pick favorites, I love them all :D
I can't really place brands, honestly. Some trucks I like and some I don't. But DAF, Iveco and Mercedes usually have handsome designs.
As for planes, I like civilian commercial ones (like Boeing 737), and helicopters. I have a strong dislike for the military, I don't fancy their machines either. The Concorde looks neat, but not my first choice.
Hmm, I should've replied as one message.
