Photographing glass is such a challenge. This is a second shot of the same horse carving, but from an angle in order to better show the detail.

I could do plates as well - I've just never had any call for them. The window glass is good for practicing technique, since you've got a big flat surface to work with and can focus on your work - not on steadying a rounded object.

There are those square kinda plates that you see around sometimes, I wouldn't recommend glass ones though. Hmmm, maybe like ceramic with glass in the middle? That would be kinda cool for plates.

Well a round plate would be fine - because unlike a pint glass you don't have to worry about it rolling out from under you.

Oh, so it looks squished because we're seeing it at an angle. I was looking at the thumbnails and wondered if you'd done two separate images, like frames of an animation or something. I guess not.

Still, that's pretty cool. Nice details.

No, I was just annoyed that the definition in the mane and tail got destroyed by the photo so I tried it again. I'm still not totally happy with it - I'm going to try experimenting with lighting and see if that helps.
