*insert stupid overdone Austin Powers reference here*
In all seriousness though. This is something I've wanted for a LOOOONG time. I know a ton of people collect plushes and such. But given how specialized my character is it's difficult to visualize it as a real plush. Not to mention I think this is as far as I will get to ever realizing my character in the real world (read: no fursuit version)
Imagine my surprise at MFF last year I found Bast's Garden who put wings on plushies. It took almost a year, but at MFF this year I found one that was small enough for what I wanted to do and decided to buy him and commissioned Sandra at Bast's to put the wings on. She had never tried a wing set up like mine (the two colors) and looking at it, they turned out fabulous!
All that was left was to get a pair of gloves which I found on Amazon. Sadly they won't fit on his paws because of the foam in them which gives them their shape. If anyone knows someone who could would be able to do a modification on them, I would gladly pay for another pair of them and to have them done. I really think having them on his paws would complete the look even more.
And before anyone says anything... yes... I am looking into making him a set of trunks as well. I just gotta figure out how to make the pants, scale them to his size and his hips/tail and then make them. Don't hold your breath on them however.
(AUP Clearances. God I hope I got these right.)

These are all tied together so there's no real order. Also I'm stating these from MY PERSPECTIVE. The last thing I want it people swarming over this and saying I'm judging THEM by my own standards. I can respect just about every single person who owns a suit and can wear one in public.
1. Cost (I've had estimates put a suit of my character, as I would want him, at roughly $3,000. I cannot, in good conscience, spend more than my first car on something I might wear once or twice a year at a con.)
2. Personality (I ain't the most outward person and being in a suit wouldn't help bring it about. I know there are people who have said "I'm very introverted but when I wear my suit a personality comes out"... well that ain't me. The character is based off me taken to the nth degree. That I've taken myself, removed parts, and amplified others. And the fact that I would not be able to portray that character correctly would bother me. Goes back to cost. If I can't use it to it's full potential, what's the use)
3. Performing (I refuse to purchase something like a suit if I can't use it to it's full potential. We're veering into opinion territory here. But I really do not like people who don't attempt to portray a character while in suit. That's what I like about people who suit and do it incredibly well. They bring a character in the suit to life. In my opinion, if you just have a suit and act like you arent' even wearing it. Then what's the point? I know this isn't a knock on anyone in particular, and it's not meant to be at all. But it's something I believe in. I'm of the old school mentality when it comes to suiting. No de-heading in public, and the like. Yes I can understand talking in suit if it is necessary or helps the character's get across)
4. Inhibitions (Say what you will, but I am always fearful of embarrassing myself, even if people didn't know it's me under there. It's part of a phobia I have tied to social anxiety disorder. My brain doesn't care if I am unknown to everyone else, to my brain I'm still making a complete and total fool out of myself regardless of circumstances.)

Also, for the cost, my suit will be about $2750 over all, but I plan on getting it one thing at a time (since I couldn't afford that all at once). Luckily
qarrezel does allow for payments, 30% down, minimum $100 a month or 10% a month, which is one way I'll be able to afford it.
Right now she's working on the articulated armature for the tail she made for me last year. I want to get a mask done this year, then next year the hands and feet paws, then maybe a body suit after that.
