So this is a teaser of what I've got done so far on this project, animation-wise. Thought I'd put this up so y'all can see. The scribbly sections are the storyboard for this thing, and are an idea of where it's gonna go once it's done. :}

As for the teeth, yeh, that's an easy fix, although they may look better after they're given a shiny enamel texture, and I turn the gums pinkish. Right now they're default graaay.

This is the third verse of "Nothing", from A Chorus Line. It's basically a song sung by an actress, about her very first acting teacher - more specifically, about a teacher who can't teach, and when she can't figure out what he's trying to teach, he tells her that she can't be an actress, and she should go back to public high school. It's a wonderful song, and it's damn the critics, full speed ahead! :D
You can find several versions of the song on YouTube - I'm using the original broadway cast recording for this one, but one of the best I've heard is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdY-IZoIGHA - although it's a bit out of sync.
(The one I'm using is more plain, but is thus better suited to letting me come up with my own visual interpretation of it.)

Yah, I think I got stalled on this project because of rigging issues with Maya 6. Notice in the second rendered shot here, her elbow keeps sticking out towards the camera? That's an IK solver issue that was preventing me from closing her arm more than about a 40 degree angle without the arm turning 90-degrees from the IK target. :(
Blender 2.5 is looking promising though....and I'd reeeeeeeeeeeally like to actually get this project done :p

It has a relatively steep unlearning curve if you're used to something else, but it more than makes up for it in what it can do. They're in the middle of a major rewrite of the ui now, so I suggest grabbing a test build from graphicall.org.
I saw some work someone was doing on adding viscoelastic fluid simulation, and it already has excellent hair, cloth, fur, and liquids, as well as a complete game engine (it was originally an in-house tool for game development)
