Hehehe, lately there has been a sharp shinned hawk that has been favoring our neighborhood because my mother feeds the sparrows. I finally saw her and managed to get as close as 5 feet from her! She absolutely didn't care that I was there, only focused on the sparrows flocked and quivering in the vines below her. Managed to snap two shots before she dove into the vines in persuit of her prey. <3<3<3 RED EYEZ!!!
Also if you look at her beak you can see the remains of a former meal... :p

Birds of prey can be pretty gutsy. There are a ton of Seahawks around where i live and they have been known to swoop down and steal your food from right out of your hands. They have even stolen food off of grills in parks and off of grills in balconeys. A friend told me he was just sitting at a table with food behind him from the McDonald and he heard a soft clacking noise and turned to see one had landed behind him and had walked near his food and was eying both the food and him.
VERY nice shot, and you lucky devil !!!
Got home and saw a Sparrowhawk in the garden least week, nomming on what looked like the remains of a pigeon or something... Unfortunately the brother scared it off before i could get a photo >.<
I was also working in a substation, went outside and there was one perched on one of the transformers!! Unfortunately i scared it off, and i didn't have a camera... I really ought to start carrying one, just in case
I birds of prey... Awesome creatures
