Random Sparkle Dog is random and belongs to no one. The butt-faced beastie hybrid is very loosely based from the butt-faced hybrids in the Macclesfield Psalter ;)
Sometimes, I wonder what those medieval illuminators were smoking when they come up with such unique creatures like that, LOL!

I think the monks, who used all sorts of minerals and oils and solvents to make their own paints and inks were licking their brushes too much. (you know, how you lick the brush to give it a point? I had to break myself of this habit when I went into china painting...too many dangerous chemicals!)
Funny cartoon too! Sparkle Dog reminds me of many badges I've done....

I remember I used to lick my brush when I used to paint ceramics when I was a pre-teen, but broke out of that habit early, when I really thought about it (I'm sticking a brush that might have remains of dried-up paint in the bristels, in my mouth....Eww!) But true, I've heard about how a lot of the period pigments that some modern scribes/illuminators still use and some are very highly toxic...so it makes sense, maybe the monks came up with those creatures due to licking the brushes into fine points, it would definitely explain some things XD
I don't mind sparkle dogs too much...I don't to draw/colour them overy often...just as long as they don't have over-the-top, outrageous designs that make my eyes want to scream in pain XD
